WATER

Amount
Give your plants the right amount of water. The amount of water to be given varies according to the type of plant and the environment. It is always good to keep a close eye on your terrarium and make the necessary adjustments.

For leafy plants: Water once every 2 days.

For cacti and succulents: Water once every week. It is always better to underwater than overwater your succulents. Succulents do not like to be sitting in soggy soil.  They tend to get bugs or diseases from having soil that is too wet.

How can i tell if i am giving my plant the right amount of water? Here are some tell-tale signs:

Wrinkled, dry or crispy leaves: Your plant needs more water!

Yellow, transparent or soggy leaves: Too much water! Time to let the soil dry out.

Where
NEVER water directly on the plants; water only on the soil around the plants (Near root area).

How
Use a dropper or a small teaspoon to water the plants.
Do not use a pressure sprayer or a watering can as it will be difficult to control the volume of the water and it might destroy the terrarium’s landscape.

SUNLIGHT
日光

What
Ensure that the plants receive adequate amount of light (either artificial or natural sunlight).
Here are some tell-tale signs to look out for.

Plants are receiving too much sunlight when:

  • Leaf edges look burnt or dried.

  • Flower color looks faded or washed out.

  • The entire plant starts to weaken and droop.

Plants are receiving inadequate sunlight when:

  • Growth is sparse.

  • Stems are lanky and spindly.

How
If you are keeping your plants indoors, do expose them to natural sunlight at least once fortnightly to allow healthier growth (you may leave them by the windows).

As succulents are very sensitive to changes, please make amendments to the light intensity gradually.

SOIL

It is natural for the soil/sand level in the terrarium to drop after a couple of weeks/months.

Simply add more  soil (provided along with your purchase) to your terrarium once in a while to let it grow healthily.

Do not water excessively on the soil as mentioned in the “water” section above.

LOVE

Shower your terrarium with love!

Your terrarium can be placed either indoors or outdoors (sheltered area). Never leave your terrarium in the rain as water will accumulate.

If your plants are outgrowing your terrarium, trim it gently with a pair of scissors.

Do not add fertilizer to your terrarium as you do not want to encourage growth.

Care for your plants with lots of love and patience and it will definitely grow beautifully.
